WindReach Farm strives to enrich the lives of persons of all ages with disabilities and/or special needs by providing opportunities to enjoy experiences in farming, nature, outdoor recreation & other activities and to share those experiences with family and friends.
Programs and Activities
A 106 acre working farm WindReach Farm is a facility like no other in Canada. WindReach lets visitors experience fully wheelchair accessible recreational activities and explore the entire property from fields to ponds and from barns to playgrounds.


Accommodation Program
accomodt.jpg Would you like an overnight experience in the serenity of the country? Come and enjoy a 1 to 6 night stay for up to 9 guests in our bright accessible guest units.  There are two units to choose from. The small apartment has I bedroom and is suitable for 1-3 guests and the large apartment has 3 bedrooms and is suitable for 6 guests. They can be booked separately or together for larger groups.

Day Visitor’s Program

WindReach Farm welcomes over 20,000 visitors each year. While the
farm’s mission is to provide a rural experience for special needs adults and children, visitors of all abilities come to WindReach to enjoy our trails, petty zoo and museum. Senior centres, daycare centres and school groups book visits to the farm as well.

Therapeutic Riding Program
horseback riding Started in 2004, we now have over 120 students enrolled in both
day and evening lessons. The special needs in the group included
are downs syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy and other disabilities
that affect motor and intellectual ability.

Registration Forms

Potential Riders,

 

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our program site.  At the moment our WindReach Riding Lesson Program is full and we’ve capped our waiting list.  Please visit us again in another 3 months to see if the status of the waiting list has changed.

   

Current Riders,

 

The 2010 Registration forms and calendars are listed below.  Please note that the formats of our sessions have changed.  We are no longer providing multiple 8 week sessions.  There is now a Spring, Summer and Fall session.  Each session ranges from 9 to 12 weeks depending on the session and the weekday that you ride on.

 

All riders are asked to complete a new “Rider General Information Form” to be submitted with their registration form.  We also ask that all riders complete a “Physician Update” form by May 1, 2010. 

 

Please note the following registration and payment due dates for 2010.

  • Spring Session: Registration and payment due by March 5, 2010
  • Summer Session: Registration and payment due by June 11, 2010
  • Fall Session: Registration and payment due by August 20, 2010
