Mission
WindReach Farm strives to enrich the lives of persons of all ages with disabilities and/or special needs by providing opportunities to enjoy experiences in farming, nature, outdoor recreation & other activities and to share those experiences with family and friends.
Fundraising
Over 20,000 people of all ages and abilities visit WindReach Farm each year. Some visit to work
with the animals, while some take therapeutic riding lessons. Some visitors come to pick apples
and many are here just to sit and enjoy being on a farm for a day.

Income to support the farm’s facilities and programs comes partly from donations at the farm gate, but mostly from donations made by our many generous supporters. We thank our donors – individuals, foundations, corporations and service groups - for their vision and commitment to WindReach Farm.

Please join us and make a contribution. Your gifts will help us continue to improve the quality of life for children and adults with special needs by giving them the chance to spend a day in the country.

Here’s How You Can Help
There are many ways in which you can make a daily difference in the lives of the special needs children and adults who visit WindReach Farm. We rely on community support to offer our programs for our visitors and every donation can make a difference.

Planned Giving
Planned giving assures a bright future for WindReach Farm. We offer a number of ways to leave
a legacy, each with its own benefits.

1.  Bequest in Will
There are many benefits to making a simple provision in your will to leave some of your assets to WindReach Farm. You experience comfort knowing that your estate will receive significant tax credits that can be passed on to your heirs.

  • You retain full control of your assets during your lifetime.
  • You can make a bequest without affecting your standard of living.
  • Its flexibility allows you to choose the type of bequest that best suits your circumstances and wishes.
  • Upon receiving the bequest, WindReach Farm will issue a donation receipt to your estate for the full amount of the bequest.
  • You gain the satisfaction in knowing that the compassionate programs for children and adults with special needs will be there for many years to come.

2.  Life Insurance
There are a number of ways to give a gift of a new or existing life insurance policy naming
WindReach Farm as a beneficiary.  In return:

  • You receive peace of mind in building a sizeable gift for the future with relatively small premiums now.
  • You can make a significant future contribution toward saving lives, for a small annual cost now.
  • Your gift of life insurance is tax deductible, and you can either receive donation receipts equal to the premiums you pay each year or your estate can receive a donation receipt upon your death.
  • Your estate is protected, since life insurance is considered separate from your estate.
  • A gift of life insurance is not subject to probate fees or settlement delays, and cannot be contested.

3.  Appreciated Securities Planned Giving
Now that the Government of Canada has eliminated the capital gains tax on listed publicly traded securities donated to public charities, it’s even more advantageous for you to give securities to the charity of your choice.

Here’s how it works. Let’s say you want to make a donation to WindReach Farm.  If you donate securities directly to WindReach Farm, you will receive a tax receipt for the full value of your securities donation on the day it is received and will not pay capital gains tax on the appreciated value of those securities.

In-kind Gifts
In-Kind Donations can include gifts of artwork and/or prize contributions for fund raising events, program equipment, office supplies and equipment etc.
