Therapeutic Riding Program

The Stables at WindReach Farm are pleased to offer Therapeutic and Recreational horseback riding lessons to both special needs and able bodied individuals, 6 years of age and up. We have horses to suit every rider’s needs from beginner to advanced. Private lessons are currently being offered and group lessons are to be offered in the near future. Privates are one hour long in which riders spend 30 minutes on the horse and 15 minutes prior to and after riding learning how to groom, tack up and untack. This format offers riders the opportunity to become accustomed to working with the horses from the ground as well as mounted.
The Stables are currently a member center of the Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association (CanTRA), and the Ontario Therapeutic Riding Association (OnTRA). Lessons are taught by Equine Canada, CanTRA, or North American Handicapped Riding Association (NAHRA) certified instructors or individuals working towards their certification. |
