General Labourer – Farm worker (who are individuals with disabilities)

Tasks and responsibilities​

• Under the supervision of the Social & Community Service Worker, the youth with disabilities (farm worker) will assist in several areas on the Farm including: stables, cleaning, gardening & horticulture therapy, small animal care and large farm animal care, onsite tours;

• Assist in the maintenance of facilities including cleaning stables, barns, paddocks and pens;

• Assist with care of horses and other farm animals;

• Assist with routine gardening, weeding and general upkeep of property and trail stations;

• Assist with cleaning of animal cages and socializing small animals;

• Assist with giving onsite tours to small groups;

• Ability to work independently as well as with other staff and volunteers;

• Strong communication skills;

• Assist with ensuring that the grounds, facilities and equipment are consistently safe, clean and meet the needs of the various program staff, participants and visitors;

• Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment;

• Good time management skills.
