Harry Worsley

Chair

Harry Worsley joined the Foundation Board in 2015, and has been in the role of Chair for the Foundation since 2018. Harry's involvement with WindReach dates back many years, as his daughter Nicole has been riding in the Therapeutic Riding program for over 12 years. He sees the value and impact that WindReach has had on his daughter and family, and is committed to reaching out in the community to bring together partners in support of the programs and services provided by the Farm.

Harry is the owner of Uxbridge Nurseries Limited, a wholesale grower of nursery stock in Durham Region.

 

Harry has been involved with many service clubs in Uxbridge over the years, and was a past Councillor of Uxbridge Township. He is an enthusiastic outdoorsman, and lives in the country with his wife and three children.

Larry James
Secretary

Larry James has long been active in the community, both through his work as President of James Campbell Insurance, and through past service as President of the Uxbridge Hospital Foundation, the Kinsmen Club, and as Director for Uxbridge Minor Hockey.

After a friend introduced him to the impact of WindReach Farm in the community, he joined the Foundation Board, where he has served since 2016. Larry is an avid traveller who enjoys time at the cottage with his family, including his newly-arrived first grandchild.

Chris Munn - CPA, CA, BBA

Treasurer

Chris is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University, receiving his Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 1990. He focuses on providing accounting advice to owner-managed businesses in the areas of tax, estate planning, and international issues. Chris is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and Canadian Tax Foundation. He has completed the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants In-Depth Tax course, and continually builds on his strong knowledge base by attending topical courses.

As a long time resident of Uxbridge, Chris values the community, and is very honoured to be able to give back by serving on the Board of WindReach Farm Foundation.

Ken Hurst

Ken Hurst joined the Foundation Board in 2018 after spending a few months on WindReach Farm’s Board, where he gained a great understanding of the programs and services the Farm offers to those of all ages and abilities. 

As Past President of Ajax Rotary, Ken continues to coordinate support for the Farm's programs and events from the ten Rotary clubs of Durham Region. Ken has also coordinated the support of the Rotary Clubs of Durham with Grandview Children Centre, Durham College, and the Durham ParaSport Games. Ken continues to be on the Board of Directors at Ajax Rotary, St David’s Village senior centre, Canterbury Commons Port Perry, and drives cancer clients on Tuesdays and Fridays to and from their cancer treatments. With years of Rotary, and specifically fundraising experience, Ken has put his skills to good use on the Foundation Board, raising funds to support the Farm.

Dr. Gary Polonsky

I.C.D.

Dr. Gary Polonsky, a native of Thunder Bay, served students for 42 years across five institutions in five provinces, and over half of those years as a president. In 1988, Dr. Polonsky became President of Durham College, a position he held until March 31, 2006. In 2001, Dr. Polonsky became Founding President of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) as he remained President of Durham College, making him the only Canadian to have been President concurrently of both a college and a university.

Thomas Coughlan

Thomas is the Owner and Broker of Record for Coughlan Realty. Thomas has lived in Durham for over 20 years, and currently lives in Whitby with his wife and two young daughters. He values the community and all that it has to offer. Although he has always been drawn to real estate, in part due to his family’s successful development history in the area, he spent the early part of his career in Ottawa working for a local politician, as Parliamentary Assistant and Issues Manager. 

Thomas is a graduate of Durham College with a Diploma in Accounting, and UOIT (Ontario Tech) with a Degree in Commerce. He also served as Student President at DC and UOIT for 2 years. 

More recently, he served as a Governor on the Board for Durham College. 

Thomas is looking forward to putting his knowledge, skills, and experience in Durham Region to use in working on the board for WindReach Farm Foundation.

Glenn Healy
Ambassador to the Board

Glenn Healy joined the Foundation Board in 2017. Glenn is a former ice hockey goaltender who played for 15 years in the National Hockey League. Prior to that, he was a member of the Western Michigan University hockey team, and 1985 graduate of the school. He also served as the director of player affairs for the National Hockey League Players' Association.

 

Glenn is also lead piper and organizer of the Highland Creek Pipe Band which plays at many community events and fundraiser in Durham Region.

Glenn is a huge supporter in our community and has a strong believe in giving back to organizations like WindReach Farm who provide meaningful and life changing experiences to those who have limited options in our community.
