BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Fernanda Silva
Co-Chair
Michael Rowland
Secretary
As a small business owner, Fernanda brings a practical, solution-focused approach and abundant energy and enthusiasm to her role as a Director. Her leadership, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills make her a valuable contributor to the Board. Fernanda first came to WindReach over 12 years ago when her son, Luca was enrolled in the Therapeutic Riding program. She witnessed firsthand the positive impact of this program on her son, and on so many other participants at the Farm. It inspired her to become a volunteer. For over 11 years, she has been an active volunteer, helping with farm tours, bingo, special events and, most recently, the annual golf tournament. Fernanda hopes to carry on the vision of WindReach to inspire, empower, and change lives.
Michael grew up just south of Windreach Farm. Just over 40 years later, he was finally introduced to the organization. He has a background in human kinetics, working with patients with physical injuries and those with acquired brain injuries. Eventually, his love of animals encouraged a return to Ontario to complete a degree in veterinary medicine, and he now works as a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner. His appreciation of the power of the human-animal bond made the opportunity to join Windreach Farm’s Board a natural fit. He is excited to be a part of an organization with such a powerful mission and vision. Michael lives in Whitby with his wife and two children, as well as their two cats, Ben and Jerry.

Adam Death
Treasurer
Adam is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and is currently a Director at a professional services firm with over a decade of experience in accounting, audit, financial due diligence and M&A advisory services. He has worked with and audited numerous non-profit organizations and brings deep expertise in financial governance and oversight. Raised in the local community, Adam grew up on his family’s farm and has a strong appreciation for the demands and rewards of farm life. His unique blend of financial acumen and firsthand agricultural experience allows him to support WindReach Farm’s mission with both professional insight and personal connection.

Pat Bullock
Director
Kelly Kivi
Director
Kelly has lived in Whitby for over 25 years and has enjoyed raising her two boys here. She is a Human Resources Manager for a multi-national paint and coatings company and has over 20 years of experience in all areas of Human Resources. She was also a certified Montessori teacher in Brooklin for a number of years and had the wonderful opportunity there to provide a supportive learning environment for children of all abilities. Kelly enjoys supporting charitable organizations and has been a strong supporter of Kelly Shires Breast Cancer Foundation for many years, participating in their annual “Snow Run”, raising funds all year to participate in a full-day snowmobile ride through Northern Ontario. She is looking forward to her new role at WindReach Farm.
Pat’s hobby of riding and competing turned into a full-time coaching career after seeing the effect a horse can have on a person with a disability. Whether riding or on the ground grooming, you can see how empowered they feel being with a horse. Working for TEAD from 2002 – 2013, she got certified to become a therapeutic coach. She worked at WindReach for seven years as the Coordinator, Equine Services and loved every day of it! She feels lucky to have been able to coach our Founder, Sandy Mitchell. Pat loved having visitors from other programs come to the stables to work with the horses. Every day, she would see the smiling faces of participants and think how incredibly lucky she was to be here!
